How we support our subscribers
Where it all started
The Investing Times is one of Australia’s longest-running investment publications. The publication was founded by the late Austin Donnelly, the “doyen of Australian investing” who established the Australian Investors Association. The publication has been around for over half a century.
The basis behind the long-term success of the Investing Times is that we advocate sound long-term investing perspectives using a research agenda that is validated over extensive periods. We aim to advocate for and enhance investor knowledge.
About Austin Donnelly
Austin Donnelly was a pioneer of the Australian financial services industry and a staunch advocate for small shareholders. With over four decades of experience, Donnelly made significant contributions across various financial sectors, including stockbroking, portfolio management, and merchant banking. He authored 49 books on investment and economic topics and regularly contributed to financial columns and newsletters.
Donnelly was particularly known for his unwavering commitment to defending small investors’ rights, often challenging brokers and fund managers on transparency and fairness. He played a key role in exposing flawed investment practices, notably before the 1987 stock market crash. Additionally, Donnelly was instrumental in founding the Australian Investors Association in 1991 and was a vocal critic of financial regulators for allowing misconduct in the industry. His legacy includes helping recover millions for investors in landmark cases.
